Hi again. Today we shall get to know a treadmill that I first came across at a friend’s home two years back – The Horizon Fitness T82 Treadmill. Located just a block away, I used to get the chance to work out on it once or so every month I did not feel up to the gym. I have mixed opinions about the Horizon Fitness T82 Treadmill looking back. Overall, I think the Horizon Fitness T82 Treadmill is a good machine for the price it charges you. (more…)

lifespan_fitness_tr500_treadmillHi again this Monday of February 2009! Keeping to our posts on affordable and residential folding treadmills, we shall cover one of the few I have liked in the economy category – the Lifespan Fitness TR500 Folding-Treadmill. Now, this is a good machine for walkers and casual joggers like most folding treadmills but comes with enhanced stability and wider range of workout options. It has decent shock absorption at foot strike, good usage-area dimensions and folds easily – all the things that count for home treadmills. Let’s take a look at what else the Lifespan Fitness TR500 Folding Treadmill offers.

stamina_inmotion_treadmill1Hi again this week. I am covering the Stamina Inmotion II Manual Treadmill today because I find it interesting as far as treadmills go. It is ultra-compact and offers the just the basics in terms of expectations from a residential folding treadmill and yet it is ling indoor aerobic fitness equipment I have come across.

I assume that it’s easy set-up procedure, portability and storage ease along with a sturdy design and affordability lends itself to its popularity.

Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill

Horizon Evolve SG Compact treadmill

Before I begin with today’s post, I will take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2009. I am sure most of us have made resolutions we plan to stick to. To make it easier for you to stick to your physical fitness resolutions through tough economic times and weather, we bring to you reviews of portable, foldable and economic treadmills. The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill is one such treadmill.

The Pluses:

  • One of the most compact foldable treadmills I have seen in the market – It folds flat to only 10” – easy to store under beds.
  • The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill can also be made to stand folded and upright against a wall or in the closet – real ease in storage.
  • It weighs just 45 kilos or 99 lbs and comes with wheel attachments – talk about portability!
  • The Set-Up is as easy as 1-2-3 and it arrives fully assembled.
  • It provides convenient built-in speakers for MP3 usage.
  • The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill comes with a lifetime warranty on frame, 5 years on motor and a year of warranty on parts and labour.
  • Keeping with the foldable range of treadmills, Many companies are giving customers up until the 10th or 15th of the month to pay their first premium. the Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill offers 2 programs – Weight Loss and Manual and the display shows the time, speed, distance, calories burnt etc.
  • The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill is priced at USD 599.

The Minuses:

  • The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill, because of its light weight, is not a very stable machine.
  • Due to the same reason, it also has a limited user load capacity of 250 kilos.
  • The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill is more suited for walking and light jogging than for running or any other heavy-duty treadmill workouts.
  • As the belt is a compact 17” (W) x 45” (L), its compactness allows easy workout by those under 5’8” in height.
  • Belt cushioning is at bare minimum levels.
  • The Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill has a 1.5 continuous drive HP motor.

My Take:

If you are serious about treadmill workouts and do moderate to high intensity workout son it such as running etc or are tall and consequently have longer strides, the Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill is not for you. I am of the personal opinion that any treadmill’s rating scale is dependent on its belt cushioning, stability, program features, motor strength and price. Except for pricing, this treadmill does not measure up. However, if you are a just-begun or your part of the world experiences harsher weather conditions keeping you at home, the Horizon Evolve SG Compact Treadmill is perfect for you. The price at USD is unparalled as is the warranty and storability.

Rating: 3 stars out of 5.

Instructor’s Take On The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill

Treadmills couldn’t get better than this. The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill delivers features at par with Nautilus’ (Bowflex’s parent company) Sports Series T5.18 Le-X Treadmill at two-thirds the price. On some counts, the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill outclasses the T5.18.

Sole F85 Treadmill Review

Sole F85 Treadmill

Sole F85 Treadmill

Is the Sole F85 Treadmill it worth it? It all depends on your workout needs.  The Sole F85 Treadmill is considered one of the most powerful folding runners treadmill available in the industry today.  This product has a 3.5 HP with a duty motor that’s unremitting.  The speed controls are conveniently located on the arm rests and the speed levels go up to 12 mph and inclines up to 15%.

If you have a limited amount of space in your home or office for a treadmill, you would obviously benefit from using a folding treadmill.  Many have argued if whether or not folding treadmills are less durable than non-folding treadmills – this is simply not the case with this product. (more…)

Phoenix 98516 Easy Up Manual Treadmill

Phoenix 98516 Easy Up Manual Treadmill

If you are looking to get fit but you’re on a tight budget, the Phoenix 98516 Easy Up Manual Treadmill is definitely the way to go. It may not have all the fancy perks that the pricier treadmills have, but it gets the job done and you don’t have to mortgage the house in order to afford it.

The treadmill is powered by foot power – not a motor. This is actually an advantage if you think about it. You control the workout with your stride. If you want to kick it up a notch, walk or jog faster, the same goes for slowing it down. You don’t have to push a serious of annoying buttons. (more…)
